Bodacious Baked Popcorn Chops

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup popcorn kernels
  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional

Instructions:

Set the oven temperature to 375F 190C

Grind the popcorn kernels according to your favorite method

After popping, place aside

Combine the paprika, dried thyme, dried rosemary, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper, if using, in a small bowl

After rubbing the pork chops with olive oil, add salt and pepper to taste

Dredge all of the popcorn over each pork chop and press it firmly to stick

Evenly scatter the spice mixture over the pork chops that have been coated

Arrange the pork chops on an aluminum foil or parchment paper-lined baking sheet

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in a preheated oven, or until the popcorn coating is crispy and golden brown and the pork chops are cooked through
